Utterly Quackers

Life can sometimes be too much. Right now is one of those times we are surrounded by "things" coming at us from every side. Such is life you wait to see what your dealt then deal with it. Occasionally you say hey can we stop a mo and just breathe!

Today was one of those days. It's been way too hot and muggy lately and I wanted out and to the seaside. Well we are 500 miles from the seaside so I came up with a plan ......... Let's go feed the ducks at the park! Well it was water and fun so it seemed like the next best thing. I have to say when we arrived it was absolutely beautiful

We had had a storm earlier in the afternoon (what a surprise) and the air was clean and clear for a change. The sun was warm on our backs and the water was as still as a mill pond, funny that, it is a mill pond!

But hang on a minute isn't something missing from these pictures. Ducks, where are the ducks, who stole the ducks?!?! We have been to the park, this pond, a ton of times and every time this pond is full of ducks (well geese if we are being totally honest) and every time we forget to bring any food. This time we come laden with food and not a duck in sight (actually there were two but they swam off determined NOT to be fed). Of course you think I am exagerating the normal abundance of feathered friends well here's our last drop in last fall ..........

Like I said normally an abundance and food laden I was pissed. So we sat for almost an hour enjoying the peace (doesn't anyone take their kids out in the fresh air anymore) trying to work out a cunning plan to get the two escapees from the other bank over to us and food. It was not to be. So defeated I decided to walk round the pond while hubby moved the car so that we could walk down past the mill - if the ducks weren't to be fed so be it!

Imagine hubbys surprise and glee therefore when he moves the car and comes rushing to find me, waving the camera, saying LOOK! LOOK! Yes, while we had been sitting for an hour one end of the park the ducks, ok geese, had been waiting to be fed at the other end.

Oh boy were there geese and I was in heaven

But singlehandedly there was one little fellow who was able to cast aside all the worries and woes of the last days, weeks, months

The youngest by far of all this years additions and my heart was melted, and cares cast aside by those big eyes (and his wibbly wobbly gait).

Ah back to reality sucks.
